Lumberjacks Selected to Prestigious Events
The start of the year got off to a great start as three Lumberjack players were selected to prestigious events because of there excellent performance on the field!
First up, 2018 Grad INF LHH Jared Donnelly. Jared was selected the Under Armor Preseason All American Game in Mesa, Arizona. Jared is already a Division I commit (New Jersey Tech) of the very competitive Atlantic Sun Conference. Jared’s first plate appearance he laced a double down the RF line against an arm throwing in the upper 80’s. This event selects players to attend the Under Armor All American Game at Wrigley Field. Best of luck to Jared!
Next up, 2018 Grad RHP Liberty commit David Erickson. David was selected to the MLK Pro Day Invitational at the MSI Facility near Philadelphia, PA. There was about 40-45 MLB Scouts at this Event. David was outstanding sitting 88-90 at 70%-75% effort with his slider 78-82 and changeup at 80-83. David had many scouts videoing him and even the Detroit Tigers came up to him and spoke to him and will be touch. Great job David and continue the outstanding work!
Last but not least is 2017 Grad INF Pittsburgh commit Anthony Siroka. This is Anthony’s 2nd time at this event and even though he did very well last year, he improved in all aspects of his game at this year event. Anthony recorded the Top INF velo at 87 MPH, which is unbelievable being only January. He showed silky smooth fielding actions to go with that plus arm strength. Anthony had 3 great rounds at the plate and being a LHH and having a LHP throwing did not affect Anthony’s performance crushing baseball left CF and right CF gaps! He impressed a lot of scouts and had a very nice long conversation with scouting director of the Baltimore Orioles about his skills and what he liked. Best of luck Anthony!
Great job by these 3 outstanding Lumberjacks and we could not be more proud of them!
